Since 2006, when Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche began to teach in Berlin regularly, the originally small circle of his students turned into a constantly growing community, the local Sangha. At the beginning we practiced the methods thaught by Rinpoche every two weeks in our private spaces. When these became to small for the growing number of people interested in practicing, the time had come for our own center. At the end of 2009 it had been found, rented, furnished and decorated, thanks to the generous help by the Germany-wide organization and equally generous donations in kind by Rinpoche. At Rinpoches request we founded a separate organization (Verein) for the local Sangha, which has been growing in numbers since its foundation 2010. We work closely with Ligmincha Deutschland e.V. where the same matters are concerned and support its greater goals which go beyond our local interests.
The center offers us the space and a supportive atmosphere for practicing together and for many of us it has become a truly sacred and blessed place, which we do not want to be without in our day-to-day life. It also hosts further events like movie evenings and Sangha meetings taking place at irregular intervals, and - most importantly - lectures and weekend seminars with other Tibetan lamas of the Bon tradition and western students of Rinpoche of many years standing.
The following members of the Sangha lead our practice groups:
Anja Benesch, Ulrike Bross-Kurat, Carmen Dietrich, Marcus Klische, Robert Skrabar, Ilona Tullmin-Bühler
